Stefan Zeume is an Assistant Professor of finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He primarily studies topics in corporate finance and political economy. His work on the “dark side of finance” studies the implications of regulatory change on corruption, tax avoidance & evasion, organized crime, and money-laundering and has been published in the Review of Financial Studies and Management Science. Recent work examines questions related to climate change and environmental & social corporate actions. Prior to joining UIUC, Professor Zeume served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Michigan; he holds a PhD in Finance from INSEAD (France).
