Victoria Gierok is a DPhil candidate at Nuffield College and a member of the History of Global Capitalism Project at Brasenose College, Oxford. Her research investigates long-run economic inequality, poverty and taxation in the German territories of the Holy Roman Empire, ca. 1300-1800. Her most recent work has been published in the Journal of Economic History (with Guido Alfani and Felix Schaff). ​Her research is supported by the Global History of Capitalism AHRC-Nuffield Scholarship and the Global History of Capitalism Scholarship. She hold an MSc in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
