Andrew Hughes Hallett is Professor of Economics and Public Policy in the School of Public Policy, George Mason University; and Professor of Economics at the University of St Andrews. He is Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh; member of the Council of Economic Advisors to the Scottish government; and since 2009 Consultant to the European Central Bank and World Bank on public debt issues. His research interests are international economic policy; policy coordination; fiscal policy; political economy; the theory of economic policy and institutional design.
