Eric Muraille

Eric Muraille is FNRS Research Associate at Laboratory of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, ULB, Brussels, since 2004 and FNRS Senior Research Associate since 2015. He is also scientific collaborator at Research Unit in Biology of Microorganisms (URBM), University of Namur (UNamur), Namur, since 2004 (https://www.urbm.be/research-groups/eric-muraille). He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Free University of Brussels (ULB), 1997. He completed a postdoctoral specialization in biochemistry (1997-1999, Interdisciplinary Research Institute in Human and Molecular Biology, ULB), in parasitology (1999-2002, Parasitology Laboratory, ULB) and in infectious immunology (2002-2004, Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology, INSERM URM 6097, Nice, France). His general research area is the host pathogen relationship. He has worked on several experimental models of infections in animals, notably leishmaniasis, listeriosis and brucellosis. He also attempts to contribute to the development of the theory of evolution and to a reflection on the impact of ethical control on the scientific method.
