Guadalupe Bedoya

Senior Economist at The World Bank

Guadalupe (Lupe) Bedoya is a Senior Economist in the Development Impact Evaluation Department (DIME) at the World Bank. Her research focuses on the role of accountability mechanisms to reduce market failures, particularly in safety markets (patient safety, road safety, building safety), and multi-faceted interventions to reduce poverty in fragile contexts. She received a master’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from Princeton University, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. Before joining the World Bank, Lupe worked at the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Planning in Colombia.
