Keiichiro Kobayashi

Professor of Economics at Keio University

Keiichiro Kobayashi is Professor of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Keio University; Program Director at the Research Institute of Economy (RIETI); and Research Director at the Canon Institute for Global Studies (CIGS). He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago in 1998. His research interests are in macroeconomics, endogenous growth theory, general equilibrium, among other topics. He currently is working on the theoretical models of financial crises, debt overhang, and sovereign debt problems. He joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan in 1991 after graduation from the University of Tokyo. He has been a Fellow at RIETI since 2001 and a professor at Keio University since 2013.
