Meng Wu is a British Academy Postdoc Fellow in the Department of Economics at the University of Manchester. Her research delves into themes encompassing the financial, economic, and business history of China. Holding a Ph.D. in Economic History from the London School of Economics, Meng Wu combines her expertise in economics and history to examine the development of financial institutions through a longitudinal lens. In recognition of her scholarly contributions, the Economic History Society of Australia and New Zealand awarded her thesis the Best Ph.D. Thesis in 2018. Her research output has been published in the Economic History Review and has garnered attention from reputable publications like The Economist. In September 2024, she will join Manchester Metropolitan University Business School as a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Strategy.
