Samya Beidas-Strom

Samya Beidas-Strom is a Senior Economist at the IMF’s Research Department, World Economic Outlook Division. Her research has focused on G-20 imbalances, oil price formation and forecasting, fiscal and monetary rules in DSGE models, exchange rate models, and house price booms. Prior to the IMF, she was a member of the UK’s Government Economic Service working at DFID, influencing development, investment and trade policies in emerging Europe and then as a Diplomat in South East Asia; and prior as an Analyst at Unilever PLC. She holds an M.Phil. in Macroeconomics from University College London and an M.Sc. in Finance from the University of York.
