Tomasz Wieladek is currently Chief European Economist at T. Rowe Price, covering the Euro Area and the UK. Prior to this current appointment, he spend 3 years at Barclays Investment Bank, where he was responsible for forecasts for Poland, Hungary and Germany. Before that he spent seven years at the Bank of England, where he worked on global capital flows, advised the external members of the UK’s monetary policy committee and was also responsible for managing research on the interaction of monetary and macroprudential policy in the Bank’s new Research Hub. He is a CEPR Research Fellow. He holds a Doctor of Science (ScD) from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in International Economics from the Graduate Institute, Geneva. His research interests include international finance, monetary economics and applied econometrics. His research has been published in outlets such as The Journal of The European Economic Association, The Journal of Finance, The Journal of Financial Economics, The Journal of Money, Credit and Banking and The Journal of Monetary Economics.
