Leonor Coutinho

Deputy Head of Unit, DG Economics and Finance at European Commission

Leonor Coutinho is Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission, DG Economics and Finance, dealing with the macroeconomics of the euro area, monetary policy and euro convergence. Previously was a senior researcher in economics at Europrism (Cyprus) and a Special Scientist at the University of Cyprus. Prior to that, was a research fellow of the Portuguese Science Foundation, at Georgetown University (Washington D.C.), a Marie Currie Research Fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies (Brussels) and worked also for the World Bank Research Department. Holds a Ph.D. from the European University Institute (Florence) and is a member of the Euro Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA). Her research interests include international economics, fiscal and monetary policy, DSGE modelling and economic convergence.
